The thing about great theme parks is that they appeal to teenagers, adults, and children of all ages.

Sea World Orlando Florida is one of those theme parks that the whole family can enjoy itself at.

It opened its doors in 1973 and its 200-acre site remains a hit with visitors today. The mix of shows, rides and animals is a definite winner.

  • Make sure to bring a waterproof camera so you can capture your family having fun in these watery surroundings.

    • If you want you can coordinate your photos with watching the animals being fed because the feeding times are posted.

  • You might even get to hand feed the dolphins, sea lions and stingrays if you show up at the right time.

    • The major rides

    If you like roller coasters you're in the right place because two of the four major rides are roller coasters.

  • Journey to Atlantis, based on the mythical underwater city, is a water coaster.
  • Wild Arctic, a flight simulator, whisks you away on a helicopter to the North Pole.
  • Shamu Express is a junior roller coaster with cars themed as Shamu.
  • Kraken is based on the sea monster from legendary stories.

    • The shows at Sea World Orlando Florida will keep the entire family entertained.

    Some of them even involve the audience.

  • If you like the eight Orca Whales that live at the park you'll want to see the Believe Show.
  • Like fireworks? Then catch Shamu Rocks America at night and enjoy the whale's tricks along with some pyrotechnics.
  • And don't miss Blue Horizons, an acrobatic show for dolphins, birds, and false killer whales.
  • Another show with acrobatic displays is the Odyssea show. It's underwater theme is accompanied with music.
  • If you have young children take them to see Pet's Ahoy and watch the delight in their eyes as they enjoy seeing birds, cats, dogs, potbellied pigs and rats perform terrific tricks and stunts.
  • Want to get involved in the action? Then check out Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island. It's replete with sea lions, otters and a walrus and it's adventure brings in the audience.

    • Want a little excitement?

  • The longest underwater tunnel of its kind in the world is at Shark Encounters. You have to do it if you like exciting experiences. There are over 50 sharks and barracudas and eels swimming in a colorful and beautiful coral reef.

    • If the kids still have energy take them to an adventure playground known as Shamu's Happy Harbor where they can enjoy the water maze and slides.
