Swindon in the United Kingdom was officially honored at Walt Disney World when the plaque marking the twinning of the Wiltshire town with the popular Florida resort was unveiled at the famous Magic Kingdom.

I have lived in the UK for most of my life – for a few years I lived in the USA (CA) and I love both. I have visited Florida and WDW five times. I cannot believe some people are so warped that they have to make, quite frankly, childish remarks about child predators, europeans being scum and obesity. This is why we all can’t get on and the world is like it is….what’s wrong with being nice? By the way – I live near Swindon, so shall smile every time I drive past the twinning sign.

In the UK and other parts of Europe, its a tradition to twin a town with another town somewhere else in the world; so 2 towns will be twinned because of their similarities, people, arts, etc. Also towns will be twinned to help public relations and communication with another country.
